WATTEN | DALLAS EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY

We were so happy to shoot Trey & Ashley’s Rehearsal Dinner, especially since they’re our family! We might be a little biased, but our family’s kids are the cutest. Rene Watten did a fabulous job planning the dinner! We also loved it when one of Ashley’s bridesmaids presented Trey with leopard pajamas, they have some hilarious friends!WattenRehearsalDinner (1) WattenRehearsalDinner (2) WattenRehearsalDinner (3) WattenRehearsalDinner (4) WattenRehearsalDinner (5) WattenRehearsalDinner (6) WattenRehearsalDinner (7)

Edwin’s Big 30th Bash!

So, it seems like a new tradition that amongst our siblings…once you turn 30, you throw a monumental birthday bash! Our oldest brother, Jon, turned 30 last year and his wife Renee, invited everyone to Zea Woodfire Grill in Plano for a fabulous catered dinner. This year, our second older brother Edwin, turned 30 (on St. Patrick’s Day) and his wife Stacy, planned an entire weekend of events and activities to celebrate! The theme was “rustic outdoors” (Edwin’s a real “get-your-hands-dirty” kind of guy :D) We ate at the wonderful Prairie House restaurant in Aubrey, TX, and then spent the weekend camping at Lake Ray Roberts! The three of us decided to contribute to the celebration by trying our hand at baking and made a huge s’mores cake! Included in the in the recipe…10 boxes of cake mix and tons of homemade frosting with marshmallow fluff. We made sure to taste-test to make sure everyone would like it ;). The weather was perfect and everyone that was able to make it had a great time! Happy 30th to an amazing older brother!

Baby Kingston’s Baby Shower

So as we are finally getting to publishing this blog post, this little baby is already 5+ months old! This baby shower was one we threw for a really good friend of ours, Jihan Mitchell. Jihan and her husband, Jeremy, were unbelievably excited first time parents (at the time). Jihan had asked that people bring their favorite book as a gift for her future son, so we made the party favors resemble library cards!

Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy!

Layla’s Beautiful Baby Shower!

Blogging has been on a hiatus for the past few weeks, but for good reason! We have been extremely busy, even in the ‘wedding off-season’, and are getting all caught up from the past few months…so we will be posting numerous posts in the upcoming days/weeks to show everyone what we have been up to!

First up…Layla Harper’s baby shower! Layla is the first child of Chandra, one of our principal designers/photographers, and her husband, Derrick. They decided not to find out the gender until the actual moment of delivery (the best surprise you could ever have!), so since we didn’t know whether they would have a boy or a girl, we decided to decorate for both! The names they had picked out for a boy and girl were Drake and Layla, so we set up two different tables of food, one with boyish foods like nacho cheese & dirt cups and the other with girly foods like tea sandwiches and cake balls! We had so much fun with the shower and creating the invitation!

Take a look!

2011 Fall Mini Sessions!

So if you remember, we held a full day of Fall Mini Sessions a few weeks ago…and we’d like to give a big thanks to all the families who came out! We had an amazing time with everyone and hope to do another mini session again! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! And don’t forget to keep checking the blog for Chirstmas Cards!

Claire Turns 30!

So recently we designed/created a logo for Claire Roberts’ new company, “August Anthology”.  Claire created August Anthology to give others the avenue to tell the untold stories of relatives and friends by talking with them and using those responses to create a book!

You can check out her site here.  We knew Claire and Russell from church, so we were more than delighted when we were asked to photograph her 30th birthday celebration!  The adorable party, styled by Claire’s good friend, Kim Williamson, was simply amazing, with a clever theme and all…complete with candy cigarettes, vintage cars, roulette tables, and a beautiful (and delicious) cake!  All the guests came dressed to the 9’s in 1920’s attire, which made for some darling photo booth pics!

We had such a great time and I hope Claire had a perfect 30th birthday!

Ashton and Daniel Are Engaged!

One of our dearest friends, Ashton, became engaged a few weeks ago when her fiance, Daniel, proposed…by playing her a song he had written just for her and the particular moment! Our principal photographer, Aubrey, had the privilege of capturing this special moment by hiding in a closet to secretly snap pictures of this perfect moment! Congratulations you two…can’t wait for the wedding!

More From Our Pearl Harbor Themed Photoshoot!

Ok…so a while back we posted about our 1940’s / Pearl Harbor themed shoot that we did with EE-Photography and Events by Shelbi Rene. We promised more pictures…so here they are! We wanted to show more pictures of products that we provided for the shoot because we just are in love with the way the signs and paper products turned out. We couldn’t be more happy with this shoot. Erin & Shelbi are both so talented and we thought it was a great team effort! It is a joy to work with them and we can’t wait to do it again!
